PUBLIC WALL CATALIZER
> THE NASHIK EXPERIMENT
Public Wall Catalyzer is a prototype designed for cities where tall compound walls create inhospitable urban voids. Attaching directly to these blind walls, the Catalyzer transforms these "non-places" into vibrant, activated spaces for gathering and exchange. Constructed with a small budget, the device uses locally sourced, low-impact materials like pine wood and relies on simple, low-skill construction techniques. Built collaboratively over a weekend with students, it demonstrates how minimal intervention can reimagine urban environments. By reclaiming underutilized wall spaces, the Catalyzer fosters community engagement and offers a sustainable, scalable model for enhancing pedestrian-friendly urban conditions.
