25 UNDER 35 DESIGNXDESIGN
Organization:
Design X Design
Year:
January, 2022
Location:
Alliance Française de Delhi, KK Birla Lane, Lodhi Gardens, Lodhi Estate, New Delhi, Delhi, India
In 2021, we were selected for the 20under35 exhibition curated by Prof. Iftikhar Chisti for DesignxDesign and Alliance Française, Delhi. We introduced 'STEAL THE DISPLAY' as a way to perform the principles of our practice, we designed a simple game that illustrates some of the basic strategies we utilize so they can bolster further change. The goal is to make visitors active participants of initiatives and not passive consumers of images; hence we encouraged all visitors to steal a part of the display. To take it home, circulate it, mobilize action.
The display consisted of a system of drawings, graphics, photographs, and maps of 24 projects designed by the CCA team, which demonstrate consistent research gravitating around conditions of transformability, infrastructural systems, user-agency, public space, frugality, and so on.

Location:
Rachana Sansad, Shankar Ghanekar Road, Prabhadevi, Mumbai, Maharashtra, India
Given the increasing regulation, privatisation and control over public spaces by structures of power around the world, initiatives of defiance meant to occupy these to transform them into temporary and informal political platforms, have ignited significant conversations; the possibility of self-made urban environments that house the marginalized.
The objective of this course was to map stories that represent the struggles faced by communities and individuals in search of their experiences in the public realm and -by doing so- explore meanings, boundaies and power relations that confirm the public sphere.
